About The Fort Bragg Area

About The Fort Bragg Area

Fort Bragg, NC, although large, is not a town or city. It is a census-designated place with borders touching three major cities: Fayetteville, Spring Lake, and Southern Pines. Fort Bragg is the largest military installation in the world with more than 50,000 active military personnel. That being said only a portion of them are housed in the base, with the majority living in the neighboring cities discussed above. Because of the large population of employed military personnel all three cities are growing, fast. Each has large suburban communities with a central hub of shops, entertainment, and good eats.

To highlight a few entertainment spots, Spring Lake houses Fort Bragg's Clay Target Center which happens to be one of the largest shotgun shooting facilities in the state. In the larger city Fayetteville you'll find amenities like the Cape Fear River Trail and Botanical Garden. If you're looking for something outside of the hustle and bustle you should look for land in Southern Pines which is smaller and has a more local feel, especially when you visit its quaint downtown center with shops, breweries, and local restaurants.
