Plymouth, NC is the Gateway to Roanoke River Delta and Albemarle Sound and rests on the Roanoke River. Plymouth was founded in 1787 and due to its location is nicknamed "Port of Entry". This charming town has something for everyone.

Plymouth houses plenty of historic sites for you history buffs. It has the historical distinction of being the site of the second-largest battle in North Carolina and its last confederate victory, the Battle of Plymouth during the Civil War. The CSS Albemarle is moored at a dock in Plymouth. While strolling through the historic downtown, check in at the Port o'Plymouth Museum and learn more about the town's history. Check out the Roanoke River Lighthouse and Maritime Museum, a museum that offers hands on experience with local and exotic wildlife.
